Basalt fiber is a continuous fiber made from volcanic rock by high temperature melt drawing technology. Unlike with other composites, such as glass fiber, due to the natural nature and single of raw material, basalt fiber is friendly to the environment and human. Benefit from the better physical properties and stable chemical properties of basalt fiber, it has been used in a wider range of civilian application that involves textile application, winding application, pultrusion and construction reinforcement application.
In 1985, basalt fibers were first industrially commercial produced in Ukraine, and in 2002, China listed basalt fiber development as a key project for civilian use, and after 9 years of development, China has also achieved batch industrial production. HBGMEC entered into the basalt fiber field in 2015, and took basalt fiber and its composite products as the key products for development. According to the unique properties of basalt fiber, we have now developed a range of products including chopped basalt fiber, basalt fiber rebar, basalt geogrid mesh, basalt fiber woven fabric, basalt fiber rope and sleeve.
